All members of People In Connection are required to agree to the terms of agreement before your listing is activated. This is to protect not only our rights but also your own. We believe a clear understanding of our terms is important, so if you have any questions before agreeing to the terms, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Business and Site Terms and Disclaimers
Our Privacy Policy
People In Connection has the following terms, disclaimers and privacy policies in place to protect ourselves and our clients. It is your responsibility to read this information in full when using the services on the site or becoming part of the network. Any questions are cheerfully answered, although, we have tried to keep it simple. It is important to read these terms completely!
a. Regarding our Sites and Links from People In Connection to Outside Sources
Many sites are linked into and from the network. We take no responsibility for any links to sites that may not be suitable to your personal preferences, nor are we responsible for the content of our associates sites, however we will not tolerate any offensive material. Content on associate sites is not necessarily the views of People In Connection.
People In Connection is not responsible for any damage to user computers as a result of viewing or downloading any information from any our sites. All material placed on our site has been scanned for virus activity, but we are not responsible for damages to your computer or deletion of content through its use. Software recommended through our site is provided by third parties. We have no control over its ability to work for you. If you have any problems with any software you download or it affecting your computer, please contact the company that it originated from.
All written material, video and photographs on our network sites are copyright owned by People In Connection unless otherwise noted. Anyone interested in using any information, video or images from our site is welcome to do so, as long as they place our People In Connection Logo on their front page with a link to our site, or in the case of online articles, the tagline and link must remain at the bottom of the article and permission requested.
Anyone wishing to place our logo and link to our site from their own is quite welcome! We are pleased that you think so much of us to do so, but also ask that you let us know where the site is and a bit about its main focus.
Any reports of sites that are linked and do contain offensive material may be reported to us. We will investigate any complaints and deal with each one on an individual basis. We expect this site to be used by the community at large and for those using the services to act responsibly. Every effort must be made to contact us either via email, phone or fax regarding these reports.
Should you wish to be removed from our mailing list, please send an e-mail to marie@peopleinconnection.com. If you have a problem being removed from our list, (some people are on more than one mailing list) it is your responsibility to notify us so we can take appropriate steps to ensure your request has been fulfilled and your privacy respected.
Contest entrants must be willing to have their name added to our mailing list and have their names published if they are a winner. It is your responsibility to ensure that your contest information is correct. We will attempt to reach you by e-mail for verification of your address so please ensure it is correct or you will forfeit your prize. If no reply is received within two weeks, we will award the prize to another contest entrant.
People In Connection contests are open to entrants from Canada only. Any entries from outside Canada will be added to our mailing list.
b. Regarding Members Links, Advertising and Articles
Online articles that are submitted or linked to People In Connection by the members are their responsibility to ensure they either have permission to reproduce a copyright article or to ensure that it is their own work.
We will not be responsible for any disputes over submitted articles or over copyright disputes. All clients are responsible for ensuring that the information they request we add to our sites in any content, is their own original material or that they have permission to use the material of another individual or company.
Any reports of inappropriate use of any member sites or inappropriate links will be dealt with quickly. If you find any material in our network of sites that you wish to comment on or believe there may be of questionable content, please notify us as quickly as possible, so we may correct any wrong information etc. immediately. Any off-site discrepancies are not our responsibility. If you see something on one of our member sites that you feel they should not have in place, please contact them directly for clarification or discussion.
c. Regarding Membership and Advertising
It is your responsibility to proof your ads or web page when it goes online for accuracy and spelling and it is your responsibility to log in to make any changes to your listings as your information changes.
NO REFUNDS are issued for sites discontinuing membership or advertising earlier than their contract period. In the case of an error in an ad that is placed online, we guarantee that we will correct it within two business days of notification by telephone but take no further responsibility.
All members agree to have their business information posted on our sites and in our newsletter for the purpose of promoting their services and made available to the other Network members for promotion and contacts for the term requested. Your membership will automatically be renewed annually and invoiced unless notified otherwise in writing, either via email or fax 15 days before the expiry term.
Members are responsible for protecting the confidentiality of ID and Passwords that may be made available to them for the purpose of posting information, specials or placing ads. At no time are you allowed to share this information with non-members. Doing so is in violation of our terms and members doing so will be removed from our membership list immediately without refund. Once you are no longer a member, you are no longer allowed to post information via any of the password protected areas.
People In Connection takes no responsibility for lost income or projected income in the case of web site interruptions due to technical issues or power interruptions from outside sources. Our web site information is backed up weekly, so your content is always intact. In the case of a major site or server crash, we guarantee to have it reinstated within 5 business days.
Any unresolved disputes over any of our services provided to members and advertisers are limited to the price of the services provided and must be presented within 14 days of invoice. Every attempt must be made to resolve the dispute directly with People In Connection via, telephone, email or fax and discussion before service costs are refunded.
Lack of payment of invoices distributed by People In Connection within 15 days will result in client web sites or advertising to be discontinued until payment is settled. All invoices are due upon receipt days unless alternate arrangements have been made. If you have any questions about our terms, please contact us at your convenience.
Members found using their site(s) or our own interface to promote inappropriate and offensive material, will be discontinued immediately without refund.
People In Connection is promoted through sponsorships and advertising and through online search engine promotions to an international audience. We will continue to increase our exposure throughout Ontario as the network grows and will provide you with many opportunities to promote yourself.
Members of People In Connection will have the opportunity to become affiliates and share in the revenue by placing our logo on your site if you desire. Memberships that originate from your site will provide you with a $5 commission which will be paid in one of two ways: Paypal, immediate payment once your referred member joins, or via cheque once $10 in commissions has been earned. You will also have your membership extended by 3 months for each new referral you send.
If you are not a People in Connection member but would like to become an affiliate, we offer $5 commission on all memberships originating from your web site.
d. Privacy
We respect your privacy. All mailing lists, inquiries, contest entries, e-mail or correspondence through the online network of sites owned by People In Connection, will be treated in confidence. Our mailing lists are not for sale, nor for the use of third party advertisers. This list will be used solely by People In Connection administrators for site promotions.
Contest entrants, if selected as winners, must be willing to have their name announced on the contest page for a period of one month and published in our newsletter.
Once membership has ended or been terminated by People In Connection, all personal and/or company information will be removed from our sites within one business week and your personal details and contact information will no longer be available to outside sources including current members.
All membership applicants and contest entrants must read and agree to these terms in order to be considered for membership or services. By selecting YES on the membership application form that you have read and accept the terms and will validate your application. All Applications that select NO to the terms will be declined membership automatically until the terms have been read and we have confirmation that you understand and agree.
You are advised to retain a copy of these terms for your records. Terms are subject to change and members will be notified of any changes.
