Laughing in Vegas

The Spring was a very exciting time for me, I had recently returned form sunny Florida having completed my training as a Certified Laughter Leader.
I witnessed so many testimonies and experienced such joy and sheer exhilaration that I decided to open a laughter club of my own in Hamilton, I had no idea it was to be the first in the whole of the Niagara Peninsula and so The Happy Healthy Hearty Laughter Club was born.
Excited and happy I approached a business associate by the name of Marie Mushing who is the owner of Successful Alternatives and runs the Bizepost Network, an organization in Hamilton that facilitates networking events for local business owners. As I shared my good news with Marie she began laughing hysterically and suggested that I present this “Laughter” concept to her group and so I did. Says Marie.”Pam is excellent at getting people to participate in her program, she was an inspiration to the Bizepost Network that day and we all came away a lot lighter and brighter and released of the boundaries that daily stress can sometimes set for us. I highly recommend the laughter program by Pam to all business owners, their employees and community groups especially those in high stress solutions”
Laughter is a part of my daily routine, I laugh for no reason, my husband says “She has me laughing and I don’t even know why I am laughing” Now that’s funny, because it is not an easy task to get him laughing. With all this built up self confidence of getting people to laugh we both travelled to Las Vegas for a two day training Seminar with a well known trainer I was determined to have the whole group laughing and something unexpectedly…I had to walk the talk.
I arrived before my husband and arranged my own transportation to the hotel, I was the last to be dropped off and I was in for a great surprise. The front of the hotel looked okay, good location, etc. but when I got to my room I couldn’t believe that in the midst of Las Vegas a hotel room could look so decrepit. I decided not to unpack, instead I would await my husband’s arrival and we would find more suitable accommodations if we could but what can I do to make this situation a little more bearable right now? Ah ha I thought to myself, I will laugh for no reason and so I began laughing, I extended my feet to touch the windowsill and I laughed for at least ten minutes. It worked! I became completely relaxed and the people I attracted started laughing as well. My husband arrived later in the evening and we transferred to a better location. Laughing is good for the soul and it definitely reduces stress.
